It’s a beautiful Tuesday to talk about the health benefits of Tsaang Gubat.
Tsaang Gubat is also called Ehretia microphylla, Carmona retusa, Fukien Tea Tree, or Philippine Tea Tree.
It’s a flowering plant or shrub that is commonly found in the South-Eastern regions of Asia.
This is my list of the health benefits of Tsaang Gubat that we should probably know.
1. Tsaang Gubat Has Antiallergic Qualities
Tsaang Gubat has been found to contain rosmarinic acid and microphyllone which are effective in controlling allergic reactions.
This shrub is able to counter the release of histamine from mast cells that cause type 1 hypersensitivity.
2. May Help With Mental Health
There are a few things that drinking Tsaang Gubat tea can help you with your mental state.
They say that it’s able to lessen your stress hormone levels which can help you with sleep and eases your irritability.
It may also give you an alert mind and may prevent nervous tension.
3. Tsaang Gubat Has Antibacterial Properties
There have been studies on Tsaang Gubat or Carmon retusa that showed that it has moderate to acceptable antibacterial activities against certain kinds of bacteria.
Some of which tsaang gubat is effective with are Bacillus subtilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Shigella flexneri.
4. Helps Prevent Acne Problems
Tsaang Gubat has been used to prevent acne breakouts.
This effect is caused by the antioxidant contents of the shrub.
If you’re looking for an herb with more antioxidant contents, you can check banaba.
I’ve written an article about banaba’s health benefits here.
5. Tsaang Gubat Has Analgesic Qualities
Tsaang Gubat contains triterpenes like α-amyrin, β-amyrin, and baurenol that showed analgesic effects.
This flowering plant also showed signs of anti-inflammatory effects but it’s minimal.
6. May Help Protect Your Heart
Regularly drinking Tsaang Gubat seems to help in lowering down cholesterol levels and blood pressure levels.
Normal levels of both can keep your heart healthy and reduce the chances of heart attacks or strokes.
7. Tsaang Gubat Has Anti-inflammatory Properties
As mentioned above, Tsaang Gubat contains some anti-inflammatory effects.
This is because of the different phytochemicals that are present in the shrub.
It can be helpful with conditions like arthritis.
Although it’s not as potent compared to other herbs or plants, it’s still something to look into if you’re already using Tsaang Gubat.
8. Helps With Digestive Problems
There are several digestive problems in which tsaang gubat is very useful.
You can consume tsaang gubat to help you relieve diarrhea, dysentery, gastroenteritis, intestinal motility, and stomach pains.
9. Tsaang Gubat Aids In Oral Health
You can use Tsaang Gubat as mouth gargle or mouthwash.
It’s been said that it is high in fluoride that can help prevent tooth decay.
It’s antibacterial properties also contribute to keeping your mouth healthy.
These are just some of the health benefits of Tsaang Gubat.
I think it’s still fairly uncommon. This is the first time I’ve read about it as well.
My favorite health benefit of Tsaang Gubat is its anti-inflammatory properties. Although it’s not as potent as others on the site, every little bit can help me deal with my arthritis issues.
What’s your favorite health benefit on the list?
Just like me, if Tsaang Gubat is uncommon to you, please make sure that you talk first with your doctor or medical professional before consuming it.
Please share this article with someone you know who can benefit from it.
