It’s a gorgeous day to learn the different health benefits of drosera.
Drosera is also called sundew. If you’re still unfamiliar with it, it’s a genus of a large variety of carnivorous plants.
For this article, we’ll refer to drosera as a whole with all of its subgenus and species. Here is my list of the health benefits of drosera.
1. Drosera May Help With Respiratory Ailments
Drosera is used to treat different respiratory problems.
It can be helpful with chest problems and wheezing. It can also promote the ease of breathing.
It’s also an expectorant. This means it helps you release the mucus or phlegm in your respiratory tract.
It’s also used to treat asthma and bronchitis.
2. May Help Stimulate Your Sex Life
Drosera is traditionally used to boost or stimulate your sex drive as well as sexual capabilities.
They consider this herb as an aphrodisiac.
Another plant that you may consume to improve your sexual health is euphorbia.
You can check my article about euphorbia’s health benefits here.
3. Drosera May Help Treat Skin Problems
Drosera can be applied topically to treat skin issues like corns and warts.
You can use the juice of the leaves for this.
To add, the juice from drosera leaves added to milk is applied to treat discolorings of the skin, freckles, and sunburn.
4. May Help Relieve Anxiety
Drosera is one of the herbs in herbal medicine listed as one that can deal with anxiety.
It has mild sedative qualities that work well in calming and relaxing your mind.
Because of this, it may help you prevent depression, headaches, and insomnia.
5. Drosera May Help Relieve Toothaches
Drosera is also used as an herbal home remedy to treat toothaches.
The antibacterial and antiseptic qualities of this herb may have contributed to give relief when you have toothaches.
There you have it. This is the list of the health benefits of drosera. There are some that I didn’t include because of limited information.
The only carnivorous plant that I’m familiar with is the venus fly trap plant.
I didn’t know that some of these carnivorous plants can be beneficial to our health.
Since there isn’t much to choose from, I’ll have to go with relieving anxiety as my favorite health benefit of drosera.
These days, with so much going on because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s probably safe to say that a lot of people are feeling anxious. I also feel it at times.
What’s your favorite health benefit of drosera?
First and foremost, please make sure to talk it over with your doctor or health professional before using drosera.
Always be on the safe side.
