6 Amazing Health Benefits Of Niyog-niyogan

Amazing Health Benefits Niyog-niyogan

It’s a wonderful Wednesday to talk about the health benefits of Niyog-niyogan.

Niyog-niyogan is a vine with red flowers that are found in the tropical regions of Asia.

It’s also called Combretum indicum, Rangoon creeper, Chinese honeysuckle, and Quisqualis indica.

This is my list of the health benefits of Niyog-niyogan.

1. Niyog-niyogan Removes Intestinal Parasites And Worms

Consuming the seeds of niyog-niyogan can help expel parasites and worms in your intestines.

However, it can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, distention, and hiccups.

2. May Help Treat Inflammation Of Kidneys

It is believed that consuming niyog-niyogan may be helpful in alleviating nephritis or the inflammation of kidneys.

3. Niyog-niyogan Treats Boils And Skin Ulcers

You can pound or mush the leaves of niyog-niyogan and apply it topically to parts of your skin that are affected by boils and skin ulcers.

Apparently, this can treat these skin conditions.

4. Helps Relieve Headaches

Niyog-niyogan has been used traditionally to relieve headaches.

The leaves of niyog-niyogan can be applied to your forehead if you’re experiencing headaches.

5. Niyog-niyogan May Help With Dysuria

Dysuria is the difficulty in urinating and may also be painful.

Drinking niyog-niyogan tea may help you treat this renal condition.

6. Contains Antioxidants

There’s a study conducted that stated niyog-niyogan was able to show antioxidant activities.

This was found from the flowers of the shrub.

Antioxidants are very helpful in fighting chronic diseases caused by oxidative stress.

If you’re looking for another good herb that has antioxidant qualities, you can check banaba leaves.

I’ve written an article here about the health benefits of banaba.

Conclusion

It’s a short article today. There isn’t much information I can get for Niyog-niyogan and its health benefits.

It may still be a good resource in the future though.

I guess this is because it’s still quite uncommon or unpopular that’s why no one is talking about it much.

My favorite health benefit of niyog-niyogan will be that its flowers contain antioxidants.

What’s yours?

If you’re thinking of consuming niyog-niyogan, please make sure to talk first with your doctor or health professional.

If you find this article useful, please share it with someone you know who can benefit from this.
